What the figures are

Disclaimer

BizBrada shows you what your own records imply. That's information, not advice — and the difference matters when money is due.

Information, not advice

Everything BizBrada shows — your VAT position, withholding tax, staff tax, company income tax, personal income tax, state obligations, deadlines — is worked out from the records you entered and the rules as we understand them.

It is general information about your own figures. It is not tax, legal or accounting advice for your particular situation, and using BizBrada doesn't create a client relationship with an adviser. If a decision matters, take advice on it.

Figures move

A tax position is a running total, not a verdict. It changes every time you record something, correct something, or remove something. A figure you saw last week may not be the figure today, and that's the point of it.

Amounts shown before a return is prepared are estimates. The number that counts is the one on the return you read and certify.

Rules change

Nigerian tax law changes — rates, thresholds, filing dates, and the split between federal and state authorities. We track those changes and version the rules we apply, but we don't warrant that every rule in the app is current at every moment, or that it fits every business type.

State obligations vary by state. Where your state's practice differs from what we show, your state's revenue service is the authority, not us.

Filing is on your certification

Preparation and filing by a licensed professional is part of our paid plans only. Nothing is submitted to any revenue authority until you have read the return and certified that it reflects your business.

We file the figures you certified. We can't verify that a sale you didn't record happened, or that an expense you claimed was allowable. Tax, interest and penalties arising from incomplete or inaccurate records are yours.

We can't guarantee an outcome — an assessment, a clearance certificate, a refund, or a timeline. Those sit with the revenue authority.

Output is only as good as input

Receipt scanning reads figures off a photograph. It's good, and it's not perfect — poor light, faded thermal paper and unusual layouts all cause misreads. Check what it filled in before you save it.

The same applies to anything typed in a hurry. Categorisation, dates and amounts all feed the tax position directly.

Offline, honestly

Records save to the database on your device first and sync when a connection returns. That means capture and reading keep working with no network — but a record that hasn't synced yet only exists on that device. Clearing the browser, or losing the device, can take unsynced records with it.

The sync indicator tells you how many records are waiting. If it's been waiting a long time, get on a connection.

Links and third parties

Where we link to a revenue authority or another site, we don't control what's there and aren't responsible for it. Deadlines and forms published by an authority take precedence over anything we've summarised.
